Available Intelligent AWD uses sensors to constantly monitor traction. It delivers torque to the front and rear wheels to enhance handling and maximize traction, typically before wheelslip can even occur.

Shortcuts don't apply. An impressively energetic driving performance is matched by impressive fuel economy. The 2018 Lincoln MKX with the 3.7L Ti-VCT engine boasts an EPA-estimated rating of 17 city mpg and 25 highway mpg. And unlike some crossovers, premium fuel is not required, which could help you save at the gas pump.
Simply stated, available adaptive steering adjusts how much the vehicle responds to the driver's steering wheel input in order to turn the front wheels. It works by analyzing vehicle speed and driver steering information. That information is used to automatically adjust the firmness of the steering wheel to produce smooth and precise steering. This system delivers an agile connected feel at high speeds and reduces driver effort at low speeds. To create an even more tailored driving experience, drivers can choose to set their preferred steering setting between Normal, Comfort and Sport modes.

HID headlamps with LED accent light bars come standard on the Lincoln MKX. These bulbs last longer and use less energy than conventional halogen bulbs. The available adaptive full LED headlamps, shown here, help give the driver a broad field of light. Featuring LED technology with adaptive forward lighting, they illuminate in sync with the vehicle's steering to cast light across a wide stretch of road.
Discover an impressive combination of power, efficiency and quietness. The available Twin-Turbocharged 2.7L V6 engine is ready for wherever the road takes you, delivering 335 hp and 380 lb.-ft. of torque. In creating this engine, our engineers were mindful of fuel efficiency as well as sound, designing it to be remarkably quiet. The result? An EPA-estimated highway fuel economy rating of 25 mpg.

For dynamic and smooth shifting, the Lincoln MKX features transmission controls on the center instrument panel. Pressing the "S" button puts you in the Sport mode for an enhanced performance feel. You can enjoy a more engaging, sporty experience by using the paddle shifters located on the steering wheel. This streamlined approach frees up usable space between the driver and front passenger seats, and enhances the clean, uncluttered appearance that characterizes the interior design.
Twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT) adds an extra measure of precision when opening/closing the intake and exhaust valves. As a result, the Lincoln MKX front-wheel drive model delivers 303 horsepower and 278 lb.-ft. of torque with an EPA-estimated rating of 17 city/25 hwy/ 20 combined mpg.
Available active noise control heightens overall cabin sound quality by reducing unwanted engine noise while enhancing desired sound to help provide a pleasant driving experience. The system monitors the sound profile and then creates an opposing sound wave. When the opposing wave meets the original sound wave, they cancel each other out.
Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) provides an easy, fluid steering feel at low speeds and a more firm and controlled feel at higher speeds. The system constantly monitors and adapts to changing road conditions and compensates for surface irregularities.
Auto Hold offers relief when you come to stop signs, long traffic signals and other braking situations. When the driver stops the vehicle using the brake pedal, the system will hold and then release the brakes when the accelerator is pushed.
Upgrade your field of vision from every angle. Four cameras on the front, rear and sides merge to provide a bird's-eye view around the vehicle. You'll be better able to see down sidewalks while backing up and navigating tight parking spots. Plus, a deployable 180-degree split-view camera located in the vehicle's grille helps boost visibility in cross-traffic situations, intersections and seeing around parked cars.
Available enhanced active park assist makes getting in or out of tight parking spaces easy.61 Ultrasonic sensors can locate an available spot and help the vehicle steer into place. Perpendicular park assist helps you guide the vehicle into perpendicular spots when you're in Reverse, while park out assist aids in getting out of tight parallel parking spots. Meanwhile, you control the shifter buttons, brake and accelerator for seamless parking.
It happens at times to the best of drivers-unintentionally drifting out of the driving lane. That's when you'll appreciate this driver-activated system.61 A camera mounted behind the windshield monitors road lane markings to determine vehicle position and detect lane departures. Through a series of steering wheel vibrations, which resemble driving over a rumble strip, the lane-keeping alert can warn you that you're starting to drift outside the lane. The lane-keeping aid actively applies steering torque, which can help you direct your vehicle back into the target lane should the system detect an unintended lane departure.
Rear outboard inflatable safety belts, shown inflated, feature strapping that help distribute crash force energy across more of the torso than a traditional safety belt. This can help reduce the risk of injury while providing support to the head and neck. In the event of a frontal or side crash, inflatable safety belts hold the passenger in the appropriate seating position, helping to reduce risk of injury. These safety belts are also compatible with most child-safety seats.
The available Enhanced Security Package includes an interior motion sensor that detects movement inside the car and an inclination motion sensor that detects changes in the vehicle's angle (such as during towing and jacking). The electronic lockable storage activates when the vehicle is locked while the enhanced valet mode locks the radio head unit, glove compartment and/or center console via a code on the center touchscreen. This package also includes double locking, which locks the door in a way that prevents someone from reaching in through an open or broken window and manually unlocking the door from the inside.
Available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert helps warn you of vehicles you might otherwise miss. BLIS uses radar in the rear quarter panels to identify a vehicle entering your blind spot and alerts you with an indicator light in the side-view mirror. Cross-traffic alert also uses radar to detect vehicles approaching from either side when you're slowly backing out of a parking spot or your driveway. If it detects a vehicle approaching from up to 15 yards away, it sends an audible warning, a visual display in the side-view mirror and a signal in the message center.
